Maria defeated Regina Kulikova and she won her first match on clay in Strasbourg after 3 sets: 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in two hours and 14 minutes.

In 2nd round, Maria will face either Tatjana Malek from Germany or Dia Evtimova from Bulgaria.
